Can anyone tell me why none of my scores, even previous to update iOS10 have any sound on my iPad Pro anymore, please. And from what I read confirm that Scorch has now been dropped ?? And if so what is the solution ? Like someone else I distribute rehearsal files for my choir.

Im not aware that scorch for ios has been dropped. The latest version is 1.5.3 and was released on 22nd september 2016 and had changes made to make it compatible with sib 8 scores.

i have only just updated to an ipad pro but still on 9 and dont use scorch very often. just found out it doesnt play back. Strange, like you, it was working (but have just had to reinstall it to see if i was getting the same as you).

It has been reported previously on the scorch forum but at that time, i checked and it worked fine for me.

If you are distributing scores to choir member with non ios devices and you want them to be able to play back, rather than just have the score as a pdf, then you may want to distribute them as musicxml format and get them to use newzik which i believe is avaible for a number of platforms and free for managing up to 30 scores.

Out of interest, do you get errors opening files? I find that when i click on a title to open it in list view, the one at the top of the list always opens?

Thank you for the reply, so sorry not to have communicated before now. I received the following form the
Avid Tech support:
can you please try this fix?
- Restart Scorch
- Restart your iPad.
- Check the mixer settings within Scorch
- Make sure the mute switch on the side of your iPad is not engaged.This affects Scorch playback even if the volume is turned up. If you are setting the side switch to the "Lock Rotation", please try to switch it to the "Mute" mode in the System Preferences?

Effectively, for some reason the mute button was on. The result was positive but the next score I tried I found I did have to restart the iPad once again. I don't have your stated problem with opening up files/score.

Interesting. Mine is still no sound on playback. On ipad pro there is no lock rotation button and my speakers are on full and none of the tracks are muted. Have deleted and reinstalled scorch and restarted ipad.

Itunes certainlyplays back.

My iPad pro does have a lock on it - same flip pane as Airplane mode. The bell/mute icon was turned on without my knowing. An now I go to check Scorch again and guess what NO SOUND !!!

So someone out there needs to help us please. Have to reboot the iPad each time - infuriating.

I have an iPad Pro and it certainly has both a mute button and a lock rotation button. They are side by side.
Flip UP from the bottom anywhere left or right of the Home button.

I just turned the mute on and went to Scorch. No sound of course.
Flipped up to get at the mute button again while still in Scorch.
Turned mute off and Scorch had sound again. No reboot necessary.

Thanks, looking for a physical button or switch in settings. . I came from an ipad 2 where the rotate lock is a physical button.

Discovered the mute button and now have playback. But itunes and tv and youtube and skype all were quite happy with button muted and played back normally so not entirely sure what mute button did. Not really paid much attention to the flip up screen before.

Play back was working fine in scorch not so long ago so no idea when the mute button got activated.

Those particular programs are probably ignoring mute just because folks are used to using the volume physical button which still exist and to avoid confusion like you ran into. Scorch programmers haven't thought of this.
