Sib. First: Multirests in parts
Posted by David - 21 Sep 12:42PM
Can anyone please tell me how to replace the multiple rest marking over several bars with separate bars of rests when I print the separate parts? I'm using Sibelius First.

I assume there is some reason why you might do this?

Try pressing [ctrl/cmd]m

Thanks Mike, the reason is some people find it easier to scan the empty bars rather than just count them to keep their place in the music. I have a Windows keyboard and will give it a try when I find out how to map one of the keys to be the CMD key. I think it should be the windows key, which doesn't work at the moment.

The modifier key is Ctrl (in Windows) or Cmd (in Mac OS): Mike gave you both versions.

I tried selecting the multirest and pressing [CTL]m but nothing happened.

Unless you have re-assigned the key command, [ctrl]m should toggle between individual bars rest and multirest. AFAIK, this works in Sib First.

There is no need to select anything, it should just work.
