I have a section where an instrument has 20 bars of rest. Sibelius is rendering it as one bar of rest followed by a multi-rest for 19 bars (image attached). I want these represented as a multi-rest for 20 bars.
I have not found a way to change this.
Any pointers would be appreciated.

From your picture it looks like the one-bar rest is not a whole-bar rest but a semibreve rest. You need to delete it. (If you deal with that, and the problem persists, then also it may be that the 'Bridge' text is to blame, depending on what text style it is, and/or exactly what it's attached to.)

If you post the score (not a picture of it) someone will be able to say for sure.

By the way I should have said, to get rid of the semibreve rest, you need to select the whole bar and press delete. Don't just select the rest and press delete otherwise it will simply hide.

Selecting the measure and deleting the contents expanded the multi-rest from 19 to 20 as desired. Thank you!

There's also a very useful downloadable plug-in (by Bob Z)

'Replace rests with bar rests' in category 'Notes and Rests'

You can correct any selection of bars up to the whole score.
