Hi - how would I go about adding playback for another notehead in a pitched stave? Like how the cross notehead plays back muted in guitar staves.

You can go to:
"Play tab>Dictionary" and choose "Cross or Diamond" in the left-hand column and click the "Adjust Dynamic by" Radio Button.

"x" notes generally denote "ghost" notes or missed notes, so they are set to "No playback effect" but that's changed easily enough.

It was a little finicky for me and I had to move a note's pitch down and up til it sounded, but that was my setup.
