Save as "Untitled" default

Whenever I SAVE AS from an open Sibelius file I get "Untitled" as the default destination as opposed to the current file name. Also the destination folder is always Document regardless of where the file originated.

This problem started over a year ago when I went from Sib. 6 to 7. With multiple inquiries I gave up when no one was able to solve the problem.

Please help! None of my other applications have this problem.

Does Untitled change if you fill in the title info - either in the Score info page or when creating the file from scratch?

As to the documents folder, which version of Sib are you actually on?

In 8.x and 7.5, you can set various folders, including the default saving folder, in the "Saving & Exporting" section of File->Preferences.

No - "Untited" does not change if I fill in the title info - either in the Score info page or when creating the file from scratch?
Also I went into preferences and changed the save default to my SCORES folder on the desktop, and it still defaults to the document folder.
No other application on my computer does this.

This has been a problem ever since Mavericks changed something that worked previously. The issue is embedded within the Qt4 framework that Sibelius is built upon, so a proper fix is unlikely until Sibelius moves to a newer version of Qt.

It doesn't seem to affect all Mac users: for instance, I can't reproduce the issue that you describe. I'm on El Capitan.

I find this happens inconsistently with Sib 8.4 on el Capitan, but most often with exporting a file to MIDI rather than saving. I've always used the application Default Folder (http://www.stclairsoft.com) as a quick way of selecting the destination folder. Then, if you are wanting to replace a file with the same name, click on the greyed out name of the file in the destination folder window and the name appears in the place of 'Untitled'.
