Sib. 6.x: Missing instrument names from parts extraction

I tried to figure this out from the various sources I found, but no luck. In the individual parts, some of the instrument names at Top LHS are missing from the first page (where piece title and composer are). I know it could be something to do with the part not being attached to the first bar, but cannot work out how to fix it.

First check score info part name field. If that is in order try creating a new part.

Quick and dirty fix -

Parts->delete part -> select all and delete them
Select a staff in the score and press w.
You will be asked if you want to create a default set of parts. Click Yes.

All parts should now have the correct part names. Any previous part editing will be lost!

Do you seriously mean extraction? That defeats the whole point of dynamic parts which were introduced in Sib 6.

I have some instrument names missing from the score after the first stave. These are treble viol 1 and treble viol 2. Also the name "treble viol" is now missing from the instrument dialogue to add or delete. It used to be under strings. Can you help?

Your score edited, attached. You can re-edit the name yourself as I had to guess the short name. For some reason, your treble viols are on piano staves. The mixer is telling me score is playing soprano, bottle, bottle, tenor sax, bassoon & 'cello. You might want to make instrument changes for playback or create new staves.

PS. The forum is not allowing me to attach the sib.6 score (1.15 MB). I'll try later.
PPS. Edited score now attached minus versions.

Hi Adrian,

Thanks so much for fixing up the parts on the score. The only problem is that the parts are still not named internally so when you open them up, they are unlabelled. Do you think I need to add each of these names separately or is there a way to restore this function? It used to work. Please use the version attached because I've made a few changes and this is now my latest version.

Yes I have a somewhat eccentric mixer setup because the viol sounds are vile(!) and almost any other sounds e.g. bottle sounds are so much nicer!

HI.
1. your titles don't always appear because they aren't attached to bar 1, but to bar 2.
2. Add any random instrument to your score then select it and delete it. This will replace the instrument name at top left wildcard.

Regarding previously reported issue of Sib 6 bloating with versions - it doesn't appear to have happened with me!
