editing one part in an orchestral score
Posted by Patricia Goodson - 17 Jun 01:03PM
I am editing the piano part in a concerto from full score. How can I zero in on the part alone and not see the rest of the score? Thank you.

Select something on the piano part (e.g.a note, dynamic) and press W.

It will take you to that point in the part (press W to return to score)

Or select the part from the dropdown list - click + on top right when viewing score.

It would be helpful to know which version you are using.

Couldn't he select the piano staves and use focus on staff to stay in the score?

Or stay in the Full Score view and use Focus on Staves.

Editing in the Part has a different effect to editing in the Score. When correcting the MUSIC, I suggest you work in the Score. Move into the Part only to tidy up stuff concerning the part layout.
