I would really appreciate some help with this - I am stuck not able to use sibelius at all at the moment.

My computer's speakers are not working and as far as I can tell this is because I tried to open sibelius several times (I was being impatient because the computer was running slowly). Sibelius will open but there is no sound. When I close sibelius and try to play sounds with Media player it says it can't access the speakers because another programme is using them even though no programmes are running. When I try to configure the speakers it says they are in use by another application (even though nothing is running). When I look in 'details' of task manager is says there are 4 versions of sibelius.exe running (even though sibelius is not open). When I try to end the process in task manager it says 'access is denied'. Catch 22!

I'm no computer expert but it seems to me that I have 4 half open versions of sibelius that are controlling the sound and not allowing me to close them. I have tried shutting down the computer and reinstalling sibelius - both have no effect on the half open versions or on the sounds. Work that one out!

Any help would be much appreciated.

Restart Windows. Don't re-install anything. Launch Sibelius just once. Does that work?

I had already tried shutting down windows and restarting which didn't work but I've just tried it again and it's now working fine. Many thanks for your help.
