Sib. 6.x: Looking for some scores that contains harp glissandos
Posted by Bob Zawalich - 23 May 04:51PM
In Sibelius, playback on harp glissandos always uses the pitches of the C major scale, regardless of the actual key. The Harp Gliss plugin lets you select 2 notes and a tuning, and it generates pitches for the gliss from the notes in the tuning.

I am working on a new plugin that will look in a selection for gliss lines, try to find the notes before and after the gliss line, and will also calculate the tuning for each gliss. In theory, one could select an entire score and get correct playback for all the harp glisses in one operation.

In practice, there is often not enough information to accomplish this goal. I have tested my plugin on a number of scores, but I would be interested in having more examples.

If you have scores that have harp glissandos that you would be willing to email to me, it would help me test out this plugin. Please use the email name from this post. Your scores will never leave my machine. You can use the Export Selection As Score plugin to make up excerpts. I don’t recommend using Disguise Score, because the actual pitches and line positions will be important for testing.

Thanks
