Hi

I bought a new computer which used win10 and therefore Sibelius 8.2 on 19th April but still have no sounds. I downloaded Sibelius Sounds to
Program Files/Avid/Sibelius/Sibelius Sounds

Anyone know if this is correct?

Secondly, I have Sibelius 7 (discs)
Are the sound files just the same for 8.2 as they took nearly two hours to download?

There's no "therefore" about Windows 10 and Sibelius 8.2. Sibelius 6.2 and Sibelius 7.5.1 run perfectly well on Windows 10.

What you downloaded is the Sounds installer. Run it, the correct files will be put in the correct folder (you get a choice of location).

The sounds haven't changed since Sibelius 7.5.1. So, if you prefer, install from all 4 of your Sibelius 7 disks then download all the available minor updates. Don't forget the Bass Clarinet Patch.

That is not the correct default location.

The download is a .ZIP archive. First it has to be un-zipped (use right-click, select "Extract all"). Then the sounds installer has to be run. It will automatically choose the correct default location.

The sounds installer does things other than just installing the sounds files: it also makes registry settings that tell Sibelius where to find the sounds.

Thanks for responses. I'll look for installer tomorrow night and try these things.
I was told by some distributor that I need to upgrade from 7.5 for windows 10 since it might work, but might not!
However I'm not too worried about that.
