Hello, since a few months it is no longer possible to use the drums from Kontakt5 in Sibelius. It is possible to hear them, separate from other instruments, with the test button in Sibelius. It is possible to hear the complete output with other instruments together with Sibelius drums but not with the drums from Kontakt5. Thanks in advance. M
On this forum, attachments must be (a) less then 1 MByte in size, and (b) or type .png, .jpg, or .sib, with the filename extension spelt in lower case. Even then, some .jpg attachments will not work, so it is best to use .png format.

It's best to take screen-shots using the Windows accessory "Snipping Tool", rather than a camera.
You have so many different VST players active simultaneously that it will be difficult for Sibelius to know to which VST to send any particular instrument playback request: you will need to guide Sibelius with a configuration of the "Preferred Sounds" tab of the Playback Configuration. At present, every VST player has an associated SoundSet which indicates that it can play drum sounds: so it is not clear which VST player Sibelius will choose for drums.
You do not have any specific SoundSets selected, so I cannot tell which sample library that Kontakt is using, or whether it contains any drums sounds. I guess you also need to configure a Manual SoundSet for every one of those activated VST players.
Do you really need so many VST players for just one score?

Using Kontakt with 16 channels created.
All loaded sounds on different midi channels do playback, except a drumset (Studio Drummer) on channel 10 (or even on other midi channels)
When I push the Test Sound button on the Sibelius mixer I hear the drumset playing, but when I playback the score with a drum track it doesn’t playback.
Kontakt is the name of the player device, but what sample library is it playing?
Please attach a screen-shot of the complete "Playback Devices" window so that we can see the configuration of the Kontakt player and the SoundSet column.

You cannot run Sibelius 8 on a 32-bit edition of Windows. Sibelius 8 requires a 64-bit edition of Windows.
You can either:
(a) revert to using Sibelius 7.x on your existing PC; or
(b) purchase a new PC with a 64-bit edition of Windows: then you will be able to install Sibelius 8.
To use Sibelius 7 on your existing PC, launch Sibelius 7 from the Start menu, then open the score files from within Sibelius.

I'm not sure what you mean.
If you have not yet purchased Sibelius 8.x, then you need to purchase it.
If you have already purchased Sibelius 8.x, then you might need to download the previously purchased installer again, from your account at http://my.avid.com/
If you mean something else, then please clarify.

Hello , my 8.5.1.is back.
I have two problems:
I haven't the sounds of piano and arcordion.
I can't integrate kontakt5 sounds in my sibelius 7.1.3 and 8.5.1.
Waht's the solution?
You must know the name of the sample library that you are trying to use. What is it?

There was no attachment. Please ensure that you create, store, and attach screen-shots in .png format. On this forum, attachments must be less than 1MB in size, and of types .sib, .png, .jpg only with the filename extensions spelled in lower case. Please check after your posting that the attachment has been made.

Please use the Windows "Snipping Tool" to take screen-shots, rather than using a camera.
You say:
- you are using the Sibelius 7 Sounds sample library;
- you cannot hear a piano sound.
Is that correct?
Have you actually installed the "Sibelius 7 Sounds" sample library? It is a separate installation to the Sibelius application itself.
In Windows File Explorer, please navigate to the folder:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Avid\Sibelius Sounds\
and, in that folder, right-click on the sub-folder "Sibelius 7 Sounds" and select "Properties".
From the Properties panel, note down the data in the lines titled "Size:" and "Contains:", and copy that information into your next post.
There are no "Accordion" sounds in the "Sibelius 7 Sounds" sample library, so you should not expect to hear any.

This shows that the Sibelius 7 Sounds sample library is not properly installed. There should be 1147 files and 18 folders.
The most likely reason for this is that the sample library was originally installed from DVD-ROM disks, and you omitted to install from one of the four disks. There are sounds installers on all four of the installation disks. The figures above look as if you installed from only the three "Content" disks, and omitted the Sounds Installer on the first "Program" disk.
So, you need to start again, and re-install the Sibelius 7 Sounds sample library. You have a choice of two methods:
1. from DVD-ROM disks:
- install the Sounds from the "Program" disk;
- install the Sounds from the "Content 1" disk;
- install the Sounds from the "Content 2" disk;
- install the Sounds from the "Content 3" disk;
- if you are trying to use Sibelius 8, then: download from your Avid account the file: "Sibelius Sounds Updater 7.5.1 Installer (Win)";
- un-zip the downloaded file into a new folder;
- then run the un-zipped sounds updater from that folder.
2. by download from your Avid Account:
- re-configure your PC (control panel "Power Options") not to go to sleep or standby while it is idle;
- download the file "Sibelius Sounds 7.5.1 (Win)": this will take many hours;
- un-zip the downloaded file into a new folder;
- then run the un-zipped Sounds installer from that folder;
- re-configure your PC back to its normal settings in control panel "Power Options".
After either method, then again:
In Windows File Explorer, navigate to the folder:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Avid\Sibelius Sounds\
and, in that folder, right-click on the sub-folder "Sibelius 7 Sounds" and select "Properties".
From the Properties panel, note down the data in the lines titled "Size:" and "Contains:" and check that it is now 1147 files and 18 folders.
You should now have Piano sounds available in Sibelius Player.

Back at the time when you installed Kontakt, the Kontakt installer will have paused to tell you the location of the 64-bit VST DLLs that it was about to install. That location information is what you need now.
In Sibelius's "Audio Engine Options" dialogue, click the "Folders" button, and add (to the displayed list of VST locations) the location of the Kontakt Player 64-bit VSTs.
I don't know where you installed the Kontakt 64-bit VST DLLs on your PC, but in my PC, they are located at:
C:\Program Files\Native Instruments\VSTPlugins 64 bit\

What is the name of the sample library that you are trying to play with Kontakt Player? At present, you have no relevant SoundSet selected (the SoundSet selection "General MIDI" is probably wrong).

To the best of my knowledge, no Sibelius SoundSet for "Studio Drummer" has ever been created.
Therefore, it is impossible to use "Studio Drummer" automatically with Sibelius.
If you particularly need to use "Studio Drummer" (rather than other drum sample libraries which have Sibelius SoundSets), then you will need to learn how to:
- manually select sounds from the chosen library in the Kontakt Player VST user interface (consult the Kontakt user reference);
- design and configure a Sibelius "Manual SoundSet" to connect Sibelius (using SoundWorld Sound IDs) to the manually loaded sounds in Kontakt (consult Sibelius Reference).
- design a "Drum Map" which maps the positions on a drum staff to the Sound IDs in the Manual SoundSet (consult Sibelius Reference).
