Hi, I believe I have tried to solve my issue after reading various threads and tutorial videos and infuriatingly finding that I don't seem to have the functions I require to input 'multi rests'. This includes Layout>breaks>auto breaks or Home>add bars>add multiple. Simply put I just wish to know how to put multi rests into my scores.

Multirests do not, by default appear in scores, only in the parts. You can toggle multirests on and off by pressing [ctrl][shift]m (or the mac equivalent).

If you are not getting the exact multirests you expect, please post a score showing the problem and we can advise in more detail.

Also, you don't 'input' multi-rests they just happen when there are a string of empty bars with nothing to split them. This is rarely appropriate in a score, common in a part.

Please attach the .sib score file, not a picture of it.

But your picture shows you are looking at a Full Score, where multi-rests are by default turned off: they are turned on by default in the Parts, so try looking in the Dynamic Part instead of the Full Score.

Since the OP is using a Mac, that key combination will not work. A Mac user would need to use Command-Shift-m

Thank you all for your support,

I managed to work out haw to change it from full score to part and I have realised I just need to work in part mode. I am a bit of a newbie after last working many years back with Sib Student 5.
