Pro Tools users and NI are also cautioning against upgrading ... buyer beware.

Finale 2014d is also having major issues with the newest apple OS.

Question to those multiple system OS user's/guru's?
Why does one get the distinct impression that apple seems to break/crash previous functioning software while windows on rare occasion does this.

It's only since Avid bought Apple...

As an old Miscrosoftie, I can assure you that people there put a *lot* of effort into making sure that as many programs as possible that ran on previous versions of Windows would run on the new one.

That was not always possible, but it often was, and there were lots of variants of compatibility modes to help extend life.

I still occasionally run Works 1999, and often run FrontPage 2003 in Windows 7 and 8.

My impression of Apple is that this not not a major concern for them. I have a fair pile of dead Apple software and hardware, more so that for Windows, at least since the Windows 95 days.

Somehow, though, I doubt Avid could buy more than 1 share of Apple stock, much less the company...

i have el capitan on my old mac now sibelius 7.5 on first sights seems to load up well and play ok, including with note performer, let me know if anyone has any questions you want me to look into, please be advised i won't be testing 8 even as a demo as i don't think my mac will run it, as I'm not sure its running 64 bit, i might try sometime.

7.1.3 runs fine on El Capitan (10.11.3) on my iMac and Macbook Pro apart from a couple of minor issues I'll post later.
