Good evening:

Going from Sibelius 7.5 to Sibelius 8, has anything changed in the way Sibelius renders scores to midi?

I am having serious issues importing a Sibelius score into Reaper and getting it to play. I've done this many times in the past, and never had any issues. One of the steps in the troubleshooting process is to see whether maybe anything changed.

ps on a side note, why can't I choose Version 8 from the drop down menu? I am on 8, paid good money for it, too.

Presumably the one that sets the message title in this forum?
I guesss Avid MIGHT eventually make this (presumably) easy change. But the present thinking seems to be towards ditching this forum software completely.
Mixed feelings about this. Yes, the software's clunky. But, maybe because of its original newsgroup incarnation, Google finds and indexes its content, which is a much better Search system than the local one. And, despite assurances, I am very worried that a new, efficient forum would discard the historic message store which is a prime support resource.

Do note that we're not talking about there not being a forum at all. Just about this one being re-vamped.

Yes, but would you place a large bet on them doing it right and not demolishing the usefulness of the present forum - or its searchability googlewise? Plenty of people over the years have bad-mouthed this forum's design, but I think it is the most pleasant and useful forum of any I've ever visited. Some forums are so over-organized it becomes off-putting. Here I can instantly see what is new and read those posts I choose (assuming the poster has given them some semblance of a logical subject title!).

By the way, the issue is fixed. Nothing wrong with the midi export out of Sibelius, I did something wrong in my sequencer.
