I am stumped why I cannot get Sibelius to create a normal layout. I am trying to get 2 systems on a B4 format page and even while there is enough space between the staves, staves are overlapping and there is a lot of empty space between and above and below staves. I checked the settings and everything seems to be OK. I have 1 hidden ossia staff above the piano part, but that cannot be the reason for this 5 hour struggle, right?

i can attach the score, but because it's an unpublished work from a client I would like to scramble the music first, I believe there is a plugin for that, but I forgot the name.

If you turn on the viewing of Layout Marks, you will see that there is a compulsory page break at the end of each system. That is why you get only one system per page. You need to change all the "Page break"s to "System break"s, so that Sibelius can allow them to flow two per page. Select the page break symbol, open the Inspector, make the change.

Thanks, Robin, I missed that. I fixed it and I have 2 systems now on every page, but it's still hard to get a good layout. It's the single hidden staff that is inside this score that makes things so difficult, even while being hidden Sibelius counts it in the layout. Maybe I should get rid of it and forget about creating that extra playback staff.
