Sib. 7.5: assigning another sound to crossed notehead?

In a score i am working on, the composer wants to have the players to make a breath sound on the crossed note-head. I do have a breath sound available but am not sure if I can assign this to this crossed note-head, is there a way?

I suggest you make the cross-head notes purely cosmetic (turn off their Play on Pass setting) and add a stave to the score purely for playback of the breath sound. If Audio Export of the score is required, let this stave do its job. When printing the score, use Focus On Staves to hide it. Or, if this interferes with Hide Empty Staves, make a copy of the score with this stave deleted.

Tried that, but it also changes the staff kind from 5 to 1 line which gives a messy layout.

You can edit the "Breath Sound" instrument to display as a 5-line stave, and to respond to your choice of notehead and pitch. It's a perfectly valid approach to the problem.
