Sib. 7.1.3: Play Device (EastWest) is not shown in Sibelius 7

Hello,

I installed EWQL Hollywood Strings Gold today and tried to use them using the SSP Soundsets. But when I try to add the Play-Device in the Playback Devices menu, it doesn't show up. (Screenshot)

I tried to add the play_VST.dll to the default Sibelius Plugins-folder and tried to link the default Play-folder. Then I rescanned the folders and restartet Sibelius, but as you can see "Play" does not show up.

Any ideas what I could try?
The play_vst.dll should be located in
C:\Program Files\Common Files\East West\VST plugins\

but I found it at
C:\Program Files (x86)\VSTPlugins

Is this the right file anyway? (The file was created one week ago...when I still did not own the library)

But I could not find another file called "play_VST.dll

Thank you for your help!

Are you using 32-bit or 64-bit Sibelius (both are installed on 64-bit Windows)?

64-bit Sibelius can use only 64-bit VSTs.
32-bit Sibelius can use only 32-bit VSTs.
Any VST that you recover from C:\Program Files (x86)\ will be 32-bit only.

Have you updated EWQL "Play" to the latest version?

The 64-bit version of the Play VST is called "play_VST_x64.dll", not "play_VST.dll".

I recommend that, instead of copying DLLs from one place to another, that you use the "Folders" button in "Audio Engine Options" to add the path to the 64-bit version of the Play VST, which is, by default, located at:

C:\Program Files\Common Files\East West\Vstplugins\

The reason for doing it this way (rather than copying DLLs) is that, when you update EWQL Play, then the Sibelius VST will also get updated automatically. If you copy a DLL, then it does not get automatically updated when you update the VST product.

Thank you very much!

The 64-Bit file was located in:
C:\Program Files\VSTPlugins
