Why is always the first and second endings overlap?

I know, it's a pain.

You can reduce the chances of this happening by selecting the notes, rather than the whole bar before inputting the line.

If you find you have a lot of these, the downloadable plugin Retract Line Ends (category Lines) will pull the ends back where they belong.

But for now at least, selecting the actual notes under the line rather than the much more obvious bar, will avoid the problem.

And a little curiosity: If there is only a whole note in the 1st ending bar you should select the whole note and then shift click the barline to the LEFT before inputting the line ..

Selecting then shift-clicking the single note seems to work as well.
