Hi Guys,
1) "Virgin Sibelius Installation"?
I'm not quite sure what this means. If you mean a fresh installation from the original installation package...yes. My first installation was from a boxed version 7 ordered from Avid's website and shipped to my house. Upgrades was done the usual ways - online. With Windows 10 I purchased the Sibelius 8 $89 upgrade plan. I downloaded the software and installed it.
2) "Keyboard shortcuts"?
I use Sibelius' standard keyboard shortcut option. Honestly, I don't know what this have to do with the slur/hairpin problem.
3) "Flipped slurs"?
Yes, I have flipped some of the slurs to look like the piano original I was working from. Still, would flipping slurs create this problem?
4) "Custom shorcuts copied from Sib 6"?
I have not copied any preferences or anything else from Sibelius 6.
What I find interesting is that NOBODY else have (even accidentally) seen this phenomenon and mentioned it in the forums. It's almost like my studio is "cursed" in this regard. :-)
This does not happen EVERYTIME I enter slurs or hairpins. I have a suspicion that there is something wrong (bug) when using the MIDI controller (EDIROL PC-50). I'm not sure at this moment, but it seems that when I enter notes with the controller, the slurs and hairpins start their rebellion. Then EVERY other input method is screwed up as well. When I exit Sibelius and reload the score, the problem persists, so something is saved with the score. WEIRD!!!
1) I don't think Windows is the problem, it happened from version 7 to 10 so far.
2) I don't think it is a PC hardware problem...this problem occurs on two different PC's, a laptop and a Windows tablet.
The fact that NOBODY ELSE noticed or complained about this, makes me to conclude that their could, maybe, be a bug between the MIDI controller driver and Sibelius. Then again, am I the ONLY person using Sibelius that use the EDIROL PC-50 MIDI Controller?
Still, Nobody else have seen this? Truly WEIRD!
Thanks for you input anyways guys. Enjoy the rest of you weekend.
Hans
