HI -

I have a score I made on Sibelius 7.1.3 on my MB Air, OSX 10.10

However, my MPB also at Sibelius 7.1.3 on OSX 10.9 won't open it.


Sibelius on my MPB says that the score was created on a later version of Sibelius. But - when I check - AVID's web site tell me that the Sibelius on my MBP is the latest version - 7.1.3 - and offers no upgrade or download option.


I'd be grateful for insight on what to do next.


Upon visiting this forum for the first time now, I happen to notice other threads here regarding Sibelius 7.5 and even Sibelius 8. Amy I missing something here regarding the latest versions o Sibelius currently available (and if so why is AVID telling me that 7.1.3 is the latest version?)

Scratch this - problem solved - I forgotten that had installed (and paid for!) 7.5 on the MBAir and forgot to upgrade my MBP which is still at 7.1.3

my apologies for wasting your time if you're reading this!


While you're reading ( :-) ) - is 7.5 the last version of Sibelius that can be purchased outright.

Is Sibelius on a subscription model from here on in?

The simple conclusion is that the score was at some time opened and re-saved in Sibelius 7.5 (or even Sibelius 8). If you would like to use it, feel free to attach the sib file here and someone will be happy to return it in Sibelius 7 format.

The "update available" function only applies to updates of your basic version. It doesn't advertise paid upgrades. I'm surprised you didn't receive an advertising email when Sibelius 7.5 came out though. You don't need Sibelius 8. See many threads in this forum for why.
