Sib. 7.5: Video Export—two questions
Posted by Tonepainter - 23 Jul 10:09PM
1. Is it possible to export a video of a score so that the video scrolls continuously over the portion which is being played?

2. Is it possible to substitute Sibelius's audio for a different audio file of the same piece, so that the audio for the score-video replaces the Sibelius version? I have a VSL mock-up which I would like to use in place of Sibelius' sounds.

Thank you.

I don't believe that continuous scroll is an option just yet.

Overlaying a different audio track, while easier in another program, might be possible... but I don't know this from having done so personally.

The workaround I'd look into would be to mute all of the existing instruments, and then bring in your audio track via the Add Video option... see... >Play tab >Video pull down menu >Add Video.

This has been the typical workaround for bringing an external audio track into Sib for other reasons, and I would think that Sibelius will use it when creating its exported video file just fine. ... but then that might only be wishful thinking on my part. Hopefully not.

The main problem, and why I thought that it would be easier to do this elsewhere, is that syncing the audio track might be tricky within Sib. but I guess you could always insert invisible tempo changes onto your score for subtle adjustments, and that might work out well, while perhaps simultaneously testing your patients.

Thank you very much—all understood.
Yes, I didn't think of that important consideration, of syncing my mockup's audio with Sibelius. Your idea of inserting invisible tempo changes sounds right. Or, may make tempos of my mock-up slightly more uniform.
Will also try your idea of adding audio via Add Video option.

I've just started using Sibelius recently overall. What I'm trying to do here seems fairly advanced, so am trying to be careful to not jump too far forward yet before having the basics more in my system.
