Having failed, because of a bug in the program, to complete a down-load of an expensive Sib 7.5, I have been waiting to be contacted about when the problem is likely to be resolved. I have a trial version which I can use, but time is drifting by and no-one at Avid support is responding to my emails. Case 02744930
I have not been given an ASC
Extract the digit, Avid and contact me in order to pacify an increasingly impatient client.
Welcome to the forum. Sorry you are having trouble. We are users here who might be able to help. What are your computer specs, and what error messages do you get when the download fails? What is the name of the file?

Thank you so much, Bob. But I really think this is well and truly in Avid's court. Upon downloading a new Sib 7.5, it failed to provide a user id (I think that was what it was) and as a result, the whole thing crashed with a 7 page set of error messages and with which I have since corresponded with Avid Support (in Rumania!).
I'm on an iMac OSX version 10.10.3.
Avid have given me a trial 7.5 to get on with while they trace the bug
(their message dated 24/6 is " Hi Bill, I just checked your Avid account, and it seems that your software is missing it's system ID. This is a verified "bug" in the system and IT is currently looking at it. I'll be keeping this case open and we'll keep you updated.
In behalf of Avid, I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience." ), and they are referring to their boffins in USA, and then providing me, hopefully, with a full and workable version.
However, this trial version I have will 'time out' in 2 weeks and thus far, despite 5 priority emails to them, I've not even had an acknowledgement since the last (4 days ago). I've a pile of work to get on with and would really like access to Sounds (not on the trial version) and which I would store on an external hd.
I appreciate your offer, but think it wise to remain chasing Avid. Don't you think?
If you have already paid for it, why should Avid bother any more? Their current business model seems to be "fools and their money are soon parted", if they are hoping to sell the latest "upgrade" to anybody.
William, what do you see when you log into your Avid account? It should look something like the attached picture. If you click on My Products and Subscriptions, you should be able to see Sibelius and your system ID.
I've looked at my account, and while there is a download available I'm not sure of the status of that facility. None from Avid has been back to advise, and not being an expert in the handling of these things I'm cautious about doing something which will compromise what I already have installed (the trial version). In my account page there is the following:
Standard Support for Sibelius Active
Time Period: Jun 24, 2015 - to - Jun 23, 2016
Please make sure you have your System ID ? available when contacting Avid Customer Care.
So you *DO* have a System ID, and there it is. Now, having shown it to the world, I suggest you obfuscate it before some dishonest observer steals your license credentials.
And you *DO* have downloads available. These are the downloads that you are intended to download and install.
If you expand the list of downloads, you will also find the Activation ID listed against the Sibelius download.
That's all you need: a System ID and an Activation ID.
One of the downloads available is the "Sibelius Installation Guide (PDF)", which you should read first.
Would you be able to help with another slight challenge. When I tried to download the faulty package some 2 weeks ago, there was a sounds download available. It's not visible in my account: any idea how I can access it ?
In your account, click "My Products and Subscriptions", then, if necessary, click the purple "Sibelius" bar to expand it (if not already expanded), then click "Show" against "Product Details and Download Links". The list of products available for download should look like:
Sibelius
Sibelius Installation Guide (PDF) 95 KB
Sibelius Sounds
Sibelius Sounds Updaters
PhotoScore Lite
AudioScore Lite
If you already have an installation of an earlier version of "Sibelius 7 Sounds" on your computer, you need to download and install only "Sibelius Sounds Updaters".
If you do not already have an installation of any version of "Sibelius 7 Sounds" on your computer, you need to download and install only "Sibelius Sounds".

I tried the other thread because I didn't want to impose on your time. The problem re Sounds remains. Listed in my 'Products and Subscriptions' is only the following (nothing like the list you set out in your previous message.)

Hi Bill, Vee is out so I'm responding for him. We provided a fully functional temporary license for the current version of Sibelius, this is good for 30 days and will expire 26 July 2015. This is not a trial license. I'll check back in with you on 10 July regarding your permanent license. You should be OK on Sounds as Vee has responded, if I got that wrong or if there's anything else you need, please let me know. Thanks!
