Hi everyone,

I haven't used Sibelius for a while. I recently switched from Windows to Mac and I'm trying to install Sibelius 6.2 on my new Mac Mini (Yosemite, 10.10.3), i5, 8 GB, 2.6 Ghz. However, after installing then running the program, I get the above unspecified error, and the program doesn't load. I found some posts with similar issues, but wasn't able to find a solution. I tried registering Sibelius via browser, but I get asked for my computer number. That's for my old Windows machine.

Any help much appreciated.

Are you quite sure that it is version 6.2 of Sibelius that you are trying to install, and not some earlier version of Sibelius 6.x?

The name of the installation file is Sibelius62Full.dmg and it says Sibelius 6.2 at the top when I open it. So I would say so.

Could you provide more clarity on exactly when in the launch process this error occurs? Is it something to do with trying to register or activate? Are you able to use Sibelius 6 in trial mode, un-activated?

Perhaps a screen-shot might help.

Hi Robin,

Thanks for your help. These are the steps:

1. I install Sibelius
2. When I run it for the first time, I get a message that Sibelius wants to make changes and for me to enter my login password
3. I enter the password and press return, then I get the message "Unspecified Error". If I cancel the password prompt in step 2, the error also gets displayed.

I have included screenshots below.
