Sib. 8.0: Sibelius 8 bugs Posted by Peter Roos - 20 Jun 09:29PM (edited 16 Jul 06:58PM) Hide picture Maybe we should have a separate thread to report bugs that are specific to the new Sibelius 8 (disregarding the list of known bugs from previous versions for now; Sam and Joe are probably well aware of those). I'll kick it off and then others can add. In the Quick Start menu, the videos still refer to Sibelius 7 (with the familiar soothing voice of Daniel ;-)). And unless I'm mistaken, the Reference Guide still refers to 7.5.1 as well; at least there's nothing about entering notes with a pen on the Surface Pro, or about making annotations in the score. By contrast, the "What's New" button right bottom does mention the new features. Then, the forum layout should be amended so you can choose "8" from the drop down menu. If Avid would regularly address known problems as soon as they are identified, I would gladly pay a subscription fee. How does the arithmetic work? Actually I can't work with the new Sibelius version! Second problem is that Avid Scorch, which is a brilliant solution for the use of my sibelius partitions on my iPad, crashes from the moment that I started to use iOS 9. Scorch crashes, when I try to switch to a different app and go back to Scorch. It seems to me, that the new multitasking option of iOS 9 is not supported. Does Sibelius completely hang or is it otherwise responsive (to mouse input for example)? Do you have to force quit it? A spindump might contain useful data. Here's how to get one: 1. Launch Sibelius, work with it until it becomes unresponsive. 2. Open Activity Monitor from /Applications/Utilities 3. From the CPU tab, Select Sibelius. 4. Click the cog icon in the top left, and select `Run spindump` 5. Wait for the spindump to complete 6. Click the save button to save the file Send me the file in an e-mail, and I'll ask one of our developers to take a look at it. Even when it is not playing back, it always rewinds if I press the fast forward shortcut. I am attaching a lead sheet to check if the problem is within my files.
