So I'm trying to have a nice sounding midi. I don't like the dry sound of Sibelius, and I am frustrated that I get a nice reverb only after I've already paused the playback and resumed. If I just start the piece from the begenning, it sounds all dry and yucky. However, when I pause and resume again, it applies the concert hall reverb effects etc. nice sounds. I want to be able to hear these sounds from the begenning, and not have to pause and resume to hear the nice echo or reverb or room effect. Any help would be appreciated, but I've checked all over guides and I've searched for 30 mins in the actual program.

I commonly find that the Reverb is richer when not played from the start. One simple way to get around this is to insert an empty bar at the start. I always do this for EVERY one of my piece so I can move the playback line to just before where the music starts - but still getting the nice reverb.

Be warned that this only works for playback and exporting audio files. Once I printed out the music with the empty bar at the start and it confused so much confusion with real players. So make sure if you print out the music you remove the bar from the start!
