Is there a way to do that?
Also, when I adjust the trill speed in Inspector it seems to have no effect. Thanks.

It played back in the top voice (upstems) and not on the bottom on my computer. Changing the speed in the inspector also worked.

Hmmm. Well, I am not so fortunate. Just double-checked and both abovementioned problems are still there. Kenneth do you have 7.1.3? Perhaps there's a setting I need to change?? Anyone else want to weigh in on this?

I have the same issue abr88, it also sounds on both for me, I have 7.5 which do you have? I'm having a mess around not that I'm very in the know with this and ill get back to you if i find anything.

Only first voice trills here on 7.1.3. If I assign it also to voice 2 on keypad both trill.
Tested with midi and Sib6 sounds.

This is proving really interesting. I have 7.13 and I also tried it on a system using Sib 6.

If the playback device is an external midi instrument or the General Midi sounds from the computer everything works fine.

Using Sibelius Sounds on Sibelius 7, however, the problem occurs as you have described. I also noticed that changing the the live velocity on the lower note has no effect and that clicking on either note actually plays the trill, which is not the case if an external midi instrument is used.

I looks like the Sibelius Player changes the sound used to play the trill, and since Sibelius can't handle more than one sound per stave at any given moment, it has to apply the sound across all notes on the stave at that point. If you look at the attached screenshot,you can see that Sibelius looks for a Sound ID first to play the trill, and then plays it itself if it can't find one. You could try removing the Sound ID for the trill and see if the results are any better.

In Sibelius 7 Sounds, the clarinet has a separate sample for trilled notes. On one staff, all the voices have to share the same VST channel, and so if the trill sample is selected, then all voices on that staff will sound the trill.

If you want only Voice 1 to trill, then do either of these:
- use playback configuration "Sibelius 7 Sounds (Lite)", where there is not a separate sample for trill, and it is synthesised instead; or
- edit the Playback Dictionary for the Trill Line so that the Sound ID change is removed.

A sampled trill is whatever the sample is: it cannot have its trill rate changed. Only a synthesised trill can have its rate changed.

or alternatively make another staff and copy the lower note of the trill to the new staff, in inspector turn play on pass off for all 8 passes for the lower note in the original staff and then hide the new staff.
I had to do something similar with a pizzicato arco problem i had too. let me know if you need this to be clearer.
