Greetings,

I have a problem which has annoyed me for some time. When trying to paste anything, a copied slur, for example, onto a note or group of notes that is or are part of a tuplet, I receive the message: "You can't copy this passage as it intersects a tuplet." This irrational message confounds copying with pasting! Tuplets themselves can be copied and pasted, but nothing can be pasted onto a tuplet or any part of a tuplet! Is there some way to correct this bit of absurdity?

Yes, this is well known.

Some of the difficulties with tuplets were fixed in version 7.5.

Thank you Robin. From your answer I assume that there is no way to correct this within Sibelius 7.1.3. Would you suggest acquiring 7.5 at this point? Sibelius 8 seems to be on its way; perhaps it would be better to wait.

There is no fix for this in earlier versions of Sibelius.

If you acquire 7.5 now, you qualify for a free upgrade to the "New Sibelius" when it comes out. But watch out for the implications on subsequent subscription renewals.

Neil Sands suggests:
"In the attached score, copy the dynamic mark in the top instrument with ctrl-C, then click the first note in the tuplet underneath, and shift-click the last(!) note of the tuplet(!) on the bottom stave, such that your selection spans the entire tuplet object on all those staves. Now paste using ctrl-V and in it obligingly plops. "
