There are now 2 sizes of recorders that are larger than the contrabass, and big recorder ensembles that use them are called Recorder Orchestras.

The Sibelius7 Sounds set for recorders only goes to the bottom of the contrabass (F2), leaving silence where lower notes are needed. I created new instruments for these two super sizes - the Subgreat bass, which goes down to C2, and the Subcontrabass, down to F1. I experimented with the organ pedal voice, which takes care of the Subgreat, but still leaves the bottom of the Subcontrabass silent. The only instrument available for that range was the Grand Piano.

My question is, does anyone know of other sound sets I could install that have those low pitches on a recorder?

The NotePerformer Contrabass Recorder sounds go basically arbitrarily low. C2 and F1 are no problem, and depending on how good your amp and speakers are notes as low a C0 will sound.
