Sibelius - the leading music composition and notation software

I am trying to create a short gap between phrases (without shortening the previous note value or using a fermata) and according to the reference guide, this can be done with a caesura symbol.

I inserted the symbol from the Symbols window with the Attached to System enabled (see screenshot), but in the score it doesn't do anything. And when I selected it, there is nothing to adjust in the Inspector panel. Any suggestions?

I tried this but nothing is changing. The last chord before the comma is still sounding at full value and there is no breath moment. I used the settings as in the screenshot, maybe I need to adjust them?

Assume you're concerned about playback.
Symbols don't affect playback.
There's no real way to do what you want, as far as I'm aware, without a fair bit of fakery.

But isn't the reference saying that this is actually possible?

"You can specify the settings for individual caesuras and breath marks on the Playback panel of the Inspector, which override the defaults. For caesuras, which insert extra silence (or a gap) in the measure where they’re located, select the system-attached caesura symbol and choose between inserting the gap After current note, After current beat, or At symbol position. "

Only implemented in latest version (7.5) I think - so you have the option of a playback effect or not.

Yes, so in the 7.5 version I am working in it should be possible, but I cannot get it to work. Of course, I can use hidden tempi etc, but it would be nice if this option would work as described.

The Ceasura is mentioned inside the playback dictionary as well: screenshot.

Sorry guys, I used the wrong symbol! I used the tick caesura but should have used the normal caesura. Now it works great. See screenshot.

Input comma from symbols - with it still highlighted (blue) open the inspector and check 'breath mark'
