>I'd be really happy to explain everything you mention above in more detail, but for brevity: the delisting from NASDAQ was caused by PCS - post customer support.

PS..and here I thought PCS stood for "Pretty Creative Stealing"--
my bad, glad thats cleared up;)!
what with the firings that went on at Avid--CEO Gary Greenfield, and CFO Ken Sexton, etc--the problems with the DOJ, (Department of Justice) SEC, (Securities and Exchange Commission)and private suits..sure sounds a LOT more serious than what we're being told, and this "PCS" is the face being put on it, to sell it to the masses.
and one would wonder if the above were ever settled...
Anyone know?
And regarding this now oft quoted "Facetime" example, that is supposed to "magic wand" this entire thing pls see this:
http://www.macrumors.com/2011/02/24/apples-0-99-facetime-charge-due-to-accounting-requirements/
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FaceTime
"On February 24, 2011, FaceTime left beta and was listed in the Mac App Store for $0.99 (£0.69). Apple claims that it intended to provide the application free of charge, however, a provision of the Sarbanes–Oxley Act (2002) bars companies from providing an unadvertised new feature of an already-sold product without enduring "onerous accounting measures."
So Apple knew about this law and solved it simply and cheaply, and they werent delisted, etc..why didnt AVID?
Im sorry, but along with everyone else Im simply not buying this..seems so much more like a "tell them this, to shut them up--make it fancy and more believable with this "PCS" stuff, and mention Facetime, simply so they'll buy it and we can get more money from them".
When youve seen the true face of AVID as we all have, theres no wonder, I really dont see a single post of support or trust for them.
Thanks Bob
PS Of course PCS could have also meant "Purely Contrived Stuff", or even a close female cousin to BS--"Pure Cow Sh.." too ;)..
but seriously all in all Im --and it seems many others also--are having a hard time accepting both the explanation of PCS for all AVIDS troubles, and this new subscription plan.
Saddest part of all, is that they once again simply did what they wanted, as they did with Daniel, etc, never even caring to ask the user base which financially supports it--
perhaps AVID might follow Steinbergs lead, where they actually asked the users if they wanted subscriptions and they said no, and Steinberg listened--http://www.steinberg.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=198&t=72219&hilit=renting&start=25&hc_location=ufi#p420517
