I remember visiting this issue years ago, and have left it alone, but it is annoying.

Is there a way to shift notes w/accidentals to the right a little en masse?

I see nothing in Engraving Rules for this.

Does giving the music a little more room to breathe with Shift-Alt-R.arrow help?

Ive been using Shift-Alt-R.arrow on just the note with the accidental.

Not engraving rules, but Appearance/note spacing rule/minimum space before accidentals. The default is 0.1, which seems ridiculous to me; I always change it to .4.

Wow, I don't remember the last time (if at all) I've looked at that Window!

And yes, the default setting doesn't seem to make sense.
