This is my experience--any help in straightening this out would be much appreciated, and if Im doing something wrong Id like to know that too:)
In Sib 7.5 and Sib 7.1.3, for me anyways on a Mac, OS 10.9.5, doing a Save As on a previously named and saved file:
1) Sib *always* tries to save the file as "Untitled". Unless its a very simple name which I can copy , I have to click on the name of the previously saved file, (greyed out below the Save As box, in the listing of files on my computer), which then appears in the Save As box, and then alter that to save it.
This happens every time, regardless of if Ive just saved or not. And if its an older file, I have to hunt down its name.
2) Sib always tries to Save to the Documents folder, NOT the Scores folder, which is specified in my preferences.
So wrong name, wrong location.
3) Couple this with the fact that double clicking on a file DOESNT open it in the program version of Sib it was saved in, and you have a HORRIBLE situation, rife for error, and a fertile ground for inventing new curse words:)
Sib 6 still populates the name of the file, and saves to the Score folder correctly.
This really needs to b addressed, or if Im doing something wrong, then please let me know and Ill fix it--Ive read the explanations, but if Sib 6 can do it right, why cant the others?
Thanks Bob
