Sib. 7.5: How to attach a dynamic to grace notes?

After looking through the reference manual and this forum, I can't seem to find a way to attach dynamics to a leading set of grace notes (acciaccatura) - the dynamic keeps sticking to the next regular note. Unfortunately, the composer (Elgar, in this case) wants this next note to have a different dynamic.

Ultimately, I need it to play back as well, so I can't just make a dummy for the printed score.

Any suggestions as to how this may be done?

You can use the inspector to change the volume of the grace note (Ctr-Shift-I). You will have to make the dummy dynamic.

Thanks for the quick response.

Unfortunately, the Inspector does not offer any dynamic options when the grace note is selected.

And, since I use Wallander's NotePerformer instrument set, making individual note MIDI-like adjustments in the Live Playback mode is not real option, since Live Playback is turned off to allow NotePerformer to control playback.

I will add a request to Ideascale for Avid to add this feature.

It should. You may have to click the "playback" bar in the inspector to open that section. It works fine for me on Sibelius 7.5.

Clicking the Playback Bar doesn't expose any dynamic features with the grace note selected - only the options to play on/off and variants of grace-note attacks. I'm using Sibelius 7.5.1 on a Mac and, sadly, the feature doesn't exist.

It works on my machine. 7.51 on Windows 7. I made a test that is attached.

Thanks for the sample. After trying yours, it makes it clear that the issue is with selecting Live Performance or not. The dynamics settings under the Playback Bar of the Inspector appear when Live Performance is ON but disappear when the Live Performance option is OFF.

I will discuss this with Wallander, as they currently advise on leaving Live Performance OFF when using their audio engine.
