How to reload my old Sibelius version 5.2.5 into newer MacBook pro? I was advised mac 10.9 Mavericks OS which came with this refurbished MacBook pro would not support Sibelius 5 & was further advised to buy mac OS X Snow Leopard 10.6.3 version.

What to do - would like to know before I switch or change out of current Mavericks OS??

Sibelius 5 will not run on recent versions of Mac OS (10.8 or later): it crashes when playback is attempted. Sibelius 5.4 appears to work on 10.6 and 10.7, but is not officially supported by Avid on those operating systems. A long-term solution is maybe to upgrade Sibelius to 7.5.x, which is supported.
