I find it annoying that subtle changes in the tempo slider are almost impossible. Sometimes one wants to experiment with small variations in tempo when trying to establish the perfect metronome mark. Yes, one can keep changing the metronome mark itself but why not allow the user to actually type in the desired mark in the transport panel, or at least have a clickable slider like, say, the "live playback" velocity of a note in Inspector? Why, I ask! A small increase in convenience over repeatedly changing the metronome mark itself, but God, like the devil, is in the details.

Type a value in the slider, type a figure in the mm mark. What's the difference?

Also, remember the tempo slider setting isn't absolute. It makes a proportional change in the prevailing tempo, at any given playback position. You'd be typing in a proportion, not an absolute figure.

The tempo slider was never intended to be used as anything other than a quick and dirty fix to let you audition different speeds. Do not confuse Sibelius with a sequencer. It is not and was not designed to be one. It is - despite the number of similarities it has acquired - still primarily a notation program. Look on the playback features as a lucky happenstance.
