Forgive me for this repeat but I wasn't sure anyone would read the post at the end of the NotePerformer messages.

Does anyone else have this problem:
first I downloaded 1.4.1, installed it, loaded Sibelius and found that I have no playback sound. Then I tried Sib 7 sounds, and it didn't work either. In fact the only sound configuration that would play back
was general midi (yech). It is not my sound card etc as I went online and had no problem playing mp3s etc.
Then I got the 1.4.2 update but after install nothing new happened.
I hope someone has some idea of what's going on with my program.

I have Win 7 x64 (I assume you have this as you have 16GB RAM. I have had no issues at all with either update. Have you checked there's nothing else using your sound device? Does the start-up music play? (If you have turned it off, try it back on to see if it plays.) Have you tried going back to the 1.2.1 version to see if that restores your sound? At least that way you can definitely blame the 1.4.1/2 updates. At that point you could ask Arne for help. He's very responsive and won't be getting much sleep at the moment ;-)

Thanks everyone for the input. I finally found the problem. The interface somehow switched from my Bose speakers to a different interface causing the disconnect. I put it back on Bose speakers and it works again. TG
