hello

i would like to use sib 6.2 essentials , with sib 7.1.3

i downloaded the package all ok .

i opened the package but i don't know what to do
to get the essentials sib 6.2 sound on the sib 7.1.3 playback window

i do want the essentials sound only .

You can install just the sounds library from your downloaded full Sib 6.2 installer package-its a separate installation.

I believe it will be one of the choices when you start the installation process..

on the Sibelius 6.2 installation disk the Sounds Essentials installer is a separate installer on the DVD-ROM--the second item on the menu is 'Install Sibelius Sounds Essentials - high quaity sound samples for Sibelius 6' --so perhaps you might also see the same on the downloaded installation package.

However today I read about Manual Sound Sets, "Sibelius 6 and 7 Sound Combo", in reference to Sib 7.5..Im not sure if its also in Sib 7.1.3, and if it will help..hopefully someone else more familiar with this will chime in, as this is new to me.

There are certainly some Combo options in Sibelius 7.5.1. They seem to work. You can't do anything with Preferred Sounds, as there's only one Playback Device. I'm not sure if you get EVERYTHING from both sets. But people who prefer Sibelius 6 strings for certain uses, Sibelius 7 for others, get the choice. See screenshots.

I was speaking of the "Sibelius 6 and 7 Sound Combo" not the "Sib 6 Choral Combo" as shown in the screen grab above--please see my first attachment.

Also this choice--the "Sibelius 6 and 7 Sound Combo" doesnt appear in my Sib 7.1.3 (pls see second attachment).

The "Sibelius 6 and 7 Sound Combo" was active when I took the screenshot of the Mixer, showing the choice of violin Sounds.

Other combos are also available.

But it seems they arrived after Sibelius 7.1.3?
