Sib. 7.5: Unwanted system break appears in panorama and page view

Today, out of the blue a system break appeared in a score that was fine before. It is in all views - part, page and panorama. I can't find any formatting marks (hidden or otherwise) and have checked each and can't find anything addressing this in the User Reference Manual. How can I fix this?

You probably mean a gap within the system? Select the bar and do Properties > Gap before bar 0

Select the bar after the break and, in the Inspector, reset its Gap Before Bar to zero? Commonly caused by dragging the end of a stave around in a misguided attempt to change spacing.

That did the trick. How that got into the score is still a mystery.

It gets into the score by a barline being dragged.
