How do I make an instrument saound an octave lower? I need a bass flute and it does not show up as an instrument choice. Is there a way to make a regular flute sound an octave lower? I can not write the part an octave lower because those sounds do not exist for a regular flute and the program just leaves those pitches out.

You cant do what youre trying to do--each instrument has a range of sampled sounds, that cant be extended lower or higher.

It can only play notes in this sampled range.

But you can try using the the General Midi flute which has a full range of notes, and see if that works for you. Its instrument #73.
