Paolo,
That appears to add up to 43 staves for which Sibelius needs to pre-load all sound samples for every possible articulation for every instrument. Are you able to use some Mac OS operating system facility to determine whether Sibelius has expanded its RAM usage to the point where 8GB RAM overall is not enough hardware?
Please try the following experiments to see whether they help with the problem.
First, take a safety back-up copy of your problem score file so that nothing in the experiments below can damage the safety back-up copy.
Please report to us what size (in bytes) your problem score file is on disk.
Experiment 1:
- open the problem score in Sibelius 7.5, click Ribbon tab "Review", click "Edit Versions";
- report back on how many Versions of this score are listed within this Sibelius file;
- select the "Current version", click "Export as Score", and save the exported score with a new, different, file name;
- close the current score and quit Sibelius completely;
- launch Sibelius afresh, and open the new score file (exported with a new name two steps above);
- does the new score file now play all staves correctly?
Experiment 2:
- open the problem score in Sibelius 7.5, click Ribbon tab "File", click "Export" -> "Previous version" -> Sibelius 7;
- click button "Export" (you might need to scroll down to see the button);
- save the exported score with a new, different, file name;
- close the current score and quit Sibelius completely;
- launch Sibelius afresh, and open the new score file (exported with a new name two steps above);
- does the new score file now play all staves correctly?
- if so, save it again with another new, different, name, so that it becomes formatted as a Sibelius 7.5 score file.
Please report back.
