Hi. I keep trying to install disc one of my Sibelius 7.5 upgrade ('Pre-Sib 7' version, designed for Sibelius 4 users) on my Windows 7 laptop. I get as far as having installed the Installation Wizard, looks as if it's about to download the files, then I get the following mesasge: 'Error 2738. Could not access VBScript run time for custom action'.
Any idea of the problem and what this means?

Thanks for your help. Tried the Fixit option and didn't work. Don't think I have McAffe internet security, looked through 'All programmes' and can't find it.

But suppose I could try the solution anyway even though I haven't McAffe but perhaps I had it in the past, it that makes a difference

As far as I know, you will not be able to keep Sib 4 registered on the same machine that you have Sib 7.5 installed on. Each new version replaces the previous one, at least up to Sib 7, and possibly 6.

Make sure that is what you want to do before you install 7.5.

It worked!!! (Must have had McAffee in the past). Followed the instructions above and it fixed the problem! You guys are amazing!!! Hard to believe you're volunteers rather you should get paid handsomely for the work that you do and expert advice you provide. Was welcome music to my ears when I heard Sibelius as the programme started up. So relaxing :-).

P.S. Oh dear, Sibelius 4 is still on my machine. Is that a problem now I also have Sibelius 7.5 on it. Do I just go to control panel, remove programmes to remove it?

I recommend just leaving Sibelius 4 there. I have Sibelius 5, 6, 7.1 and 7.5 happily co-existing on the same PC. I certainly would not actively set out to remove it.

I agree with Robin--and if you ARE going to still be using Sib 4, you can ask support (I posted the info above) if they'll allow you to keep it activated.
