I'm being driven crazy by double note heads!! Whenever I enter a note it comes up with a double head. I've tried disconnecting the midi device and then connecting it again, but that only works SOMETIMES. It only used to happen once a day. Now it's happening every 5 minutes! Does anyone know why it happens and how to make it stop?

You are using a MIDI keyboard. It is configured to do "MIDI-thru", that is, reflect back to Sibelius everything that Sibelius sends to the keyboard, thus re-entering the note a second time. Re-configure your MIDI keyboard not to do that.

Hi Robin,
For a beginner like me, not too familiar with computers, can you tell me exactly, step-by-step, how to "re-configure my MIDI keyboard not do to that?" Because I'm being driven absolutely crazy by double notes that I can't make it stop giving me!!!

Or you may be using a keyboard with a keyboard split or layering feature, hitting a key plays two sounds. It will also transmit on two MIDI channels, and Sibelius is recognizing them both.

Soultion - change to a single-layer patch on the keyboard.

P.S. It's been working perfectly for a couple weeks since I got it, now, without changing anything, it just starts putting down double note heads. THen if I disconnect and connect the MIDI keyboard, it behaves itself for a few notes, then starts up again!

THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!! Guess what stupid place I placed my laptop as I worked? On top of the keyboard, where all the buttons are. So I had accidentally turned on "Dual Voice". As soon as I turned it off it stopped putting down double note heads. Thank you SO MUCH!!!
