I'm working with something where the noteheads are "x" and the intention is that the words be spoken, not sung, in the given rhythm.

How do I do this with my existing Soprano voice in Sibelius? I see how I can change the shape of the notehead in the Properties window but it still sounds on pitch.

Truth be told, I'm not sure _what_ I'd want to hear on playback - no sound would be fine with me - but I'd like it to display and print correctly.

In the Inspector you can turn off Play on Pass by unchecking all for these notes to silence them.

Pls see the attachments--these are from the Sib 5 pdf manual

1)All the different noteheads Sib uses
2)Symbols used for sprechstimme

You can turn off playback if none is desired by unchecking the proper box in Play on Pass in the Properties Window, Playback Pane--if Sib 4 has that.
