I recently replaced my ancient MacBook with a new MacBook Pro, and today is the first time I've used Sibelius on the new computer. When I attempt to save a new Sibelius file, my computer instantly crashes before it brings me to the save dialog box -- and not just Sibelius, but the entire computer becomes unresponsive, meaning I have to force-restart, and can never save my score.

Has anyone else experienced this issue? It is terrible, as it makes Sibelius essentially unusable.

My computer has never crashed in any other apps, so I wonder if it's a Yosemite/Sibelius compatibility problem?

Are you sure that the Mac crashed, or was it just taking a very long time being unresponsive, before it finished? How long have you left it to see whether it will finish?

I left it for a couple minutes and it was still stuck. I'm sure it wasn't just Sibelius, because usually when any app is stuck, you can still interact with the Finder or other apps.

Hmm, I left it for much longer this time and it seems to have worked. I saved the document successfully and can continue to save changes without problem. I don't know what the issue was, but it seems to have resolved itself for now...

I have the same exact problem! In the end it takes control again, butnit takes a long time!

I still am having the problem too! It completely freezes my computer for about five minutes, and then works normally after that. It's unbelievably inconvenient. Does anyone have any idea what's causing it?

With Mac OS Yosemite, I have problems with Sibelius too...

I think that any crash-problems come from "rewire" and Sibelius crash down often with pdf-export!
