There are places in my score where the notes won't play back (make a sound) when using certain articulations. Right now it's the stacatto marking in a bari sax part. Sometimes there will be certain notes that *will* play, but others won't, and then other times none will play. I've tried it with Live Playback on and off, I've double-checked my velocities, live start position, tried re-entering the notes, made sure it's in the instruments range, etc.

Any ideas?

Here's something weird/more data about the issue. I added another Bari Sax to the score, copied one of the offending measures to it, selected it to isolate, and played it. It loaded a sound, and played it perfectly. I then selected the old measure/stave to isolate and play it.. worked perfectly. If I delete the notes I copied to the new measure and play the original measure, it doesn't work. Remember, I have these staves isolated when I play them, so I'm not supposed to be hearing anything from any other staves.

We need to see the whole score.

If there's a Bass Clarinet in the instrumentation, the patch Bob mentioned should definitely be the first thing you do.

I'll add that patch, I thought it was a part of his signature, so I ignored it since I'm not using Bass Clarinet.

If the file I've posted contains the exact issue that I'm talking about, is there really a need for me to post the entire score? I'm not really comfortable doing that. Not that it's great, and would be 'stolen', but I.. yeah. I'd like to avoid it if possible. In fact, I'd just live with the issue rather than posting my score.

Can you tell me how you would troubleshoot it? I could do the same and see what I come up with. I'd post my results.

Yes Baritone Sax often suffers this problem. You don't need to close Sibelus usually, change to a different configuration then back again. I have a 'Silent' configuration (no devices selected)

Bari sax and brass plus others, I've had this problem. They don't all seem to be sampled.

Go to Play - Dictionary - Articulations - Staccato. Delete Staccato+ in the Sound ID Change box (can be put back easily).

Select Adjust Dynamic.... etc and choose you own prefence.

This always works for me.

Also good to do the same with marcato, accent etc etc"

No, there wouldn't be. But you posted one bar, of one instrument. It plays perfectly here. It doesn't for you?

Matt, is your problem happening on a Mac or on Windows?

Similar issues have been noted on Macs when the total instrumentation of a score (counting every different sampled articulation on every different instrument) hits some sort of limit inside Sibelius Player.

As noted above, you can prevent the staccato samples being used, and just truncate the notes. Or you can use playback configuration Sibelius 7 Sounds (Lite).

i have same problem but w/o articulations....weird, some notes just won't play back. Very frustrating.
