Sib. 6.x: Choosing House Style
Posted by Noel Fidge - 26 Oct 07:39AM
I reckon the defaults for setting up a manuscript are excellent. Always use the Unchanged option under House Style-looks 'classical' to me-and the Jazz option if writing for a big band.
I've had reason to ponder this again recently, because of possible publisher request, and I guess for these purposes many Sibelius users import their own preferential House Styles.
But are there options to choose within Sibelius (6.2.1) that may appear to 'improve' the appearance. I've done a few experiments, but as I said, nothing seems better than the Unchanged set-up?
Any comments welcome

I set up my own personal home style. I prefer the jazz fonts to classical, even if the chart is not for jazz band. I find them much easier to read and have never had a complaint from non-jazzers. Fortunately I publish my own charts, so no pressure from publishing houses to "correct" my thinking.
