Sib. 7.1: How to replace curly braces with bracket

The score I'm working on has a curly brace beside the Treble Clef and a curly brace beside the Bass Clef. My understanding is that since this score is a hymn, the braces should be removed and a bracket should be applied to the staff.

Under the Notations tab I found the Bracket or Brace section in the ribbon. Upon selecting the Bracket menu option, a bracket appears on the staff as I wish. But the curly braces are persisted under the bracket. In the attached image I've circled the 2 areas where the curly braces poke out under the bracket. How can I remove these braces? Thanks.

Select the bracket(s) and press Delete.

Thanks for the response. Selecting the bracket doesn't work for me. That's what I initially tried. It appears that I'm unable to select the curly brace to begin with. It's like it's permanently fixed to the staff.

Originally I had moved this to a piano staff because the instrumental voicing was easier to follow than the choral voices. I wonder if that's why these curly braces are fixed.

Could you attach the Sibelius .sib score you are working on? Then we might be able to understand what the issues are.

Ken,
I don't think the curly brace would be 'fixed' to the stave as you describe.
However it may be that the straight bracket is preventing you from being able to select the curly brace - the bracket's getting 'in the way'. You could try selecting and deleting the straight bracket, then perhaps you can select and delete the curly brace, then you'll have to re-create the bracket.

The selection points for the bracket are quite specific. See attached screenshot. Turning on View:Handles and zooming in may help you locate the places you can click to select and then delete the brackets, but neither are essential, once you know where they are.
