Hi We have the network version of the Sibelius .exe and have used the command line contained on the knowledge base article to be able to deploy it over the network which works fine when manually logged in to the computer with an admin account.

When trying to push out the software via group policy by using a bat file with the command line in it the Sibelius Fonts install but the program doesn't. On further investigation it seems that the exe is trying to extract the msi files in to the local system users profile to then deploy but it fails and does not create the folders or extract the msi's to run.

Has anyone else come across this issue before and got around it? For now I have manually run the script on the 20 or so machines required immediately but students would like to use the software elsewhere obviously up to the limit of concurrent licenses.

I have a the same problem. We us SCCM and will not install if the installation behavior is set to "Install for system" but will install if set to "Install for user".

Are you using the correct knowledgebase article for Sibelius 7.5.1 (which is different from earlier versions)?

Yep I used that knowledgebase article to try getting it working.

It works fine if you run it manually from the command line logged in as an administrator but as soon as you try it via a script using group policy it fails.

Hi,

I am also having this issue installing 7.5.1 via SCCM automated. Running the script manually works fine but automated it doesn't. Was there a work around to get this installing silently via network automation?

Hi,

I had an issue with Sibelius failing to install from SCCM as well with a script. Although the script runs ok manually.

I found from the msi log it reported it was trying to run a msi from C:\Windows\System32\config\systemprofile\AppData\Local\Downloaded Installations, but there was no msi there only in the syswow64 folder.

In my script I copy the installer (64-bit) to a local location first. Then I run the following directory junction command, so that system32 folder is redirected to syswow64 where the msi seems to get extracted:

mklink /J "C:\Windows\System32\config\systemprofile\AppData\Local\Downloaded Installations" "C:\Windows\SysWOW64\config\systemprofile\AppData\Local\Downloaded Installations".


Here is a snippet of my vbscript (tested on win7-64bit) ...

Has anyone had any new information on how we can push Siblelius 2018.7 using SCCM?

I have spent hours and can't seem to get SCCM to push. It starts to install, but mysteriously stops and then fails.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.
