I need the part to have different clef in a section than in full score. The notes must be positioned as well to be read in the part's clef correctly, but kept where they are in the score.

For example,
Measure 10 only:
Treble clef in score, middle c below the staff.
Bass clef in part, same middle c but now reading above the staff.

Insert the clef in the part.

Okay, an additional problem is that the notes in the part that are in bass clef are now too high and need to be lowered an octave and have a 8va put over them without that being visible in the score. In other words the notes have to be in the same place in the full score they were originally, and moved down an octave in the part. How do I do that?

Try adding the same notes an octave lower and using Show in Parts (i.e. Hide in Score). If it gets too complicated, just add a second stave for that instrument to the score. Most of it can be copied over en bloc, modify the part that needs modifing. Or Extract a Part.

I don't quite see where the octave problem is coming from? What you asked for seems to be what you'd get from just changing clef in the Part?

Thanks, I think this solves the problem for me!

The problem arises because the performer only wants to read his part in a single clef with no changes of clefs and using 8va whenever the notes go too high, despite certain sections being more easily read when the clef is simply converted.
