You can see why - despite the hiatus in development (which was completely Avid's fault) there had to be SOME income from Sibelius to keep the bean-counters happy. There's no morality involved - just no beans, no Sibelius. Apple have a history of chucking last-minute spanners in the works in the final days before an os release. Very sensible not to waste resources fixing Sibelius for yosemite before it's finalized and released. Back to top | All threads

For me that seems the safest route. I've always waited til the ".1" was out as not only Sibelius but any of my other important apps may suffer in performance: Final Cut, Reaper (or any DAW, including Pro Tools and Logic), iMovie, Mail, Aperture, etc. So, I wait patiently and watch the complaints on the Apple sites about this program and this app not working and not very far after, the .1 version is released with several minor (and often some major) bug releases. Full stop. Also, for me, upgrading a piece of software is something to be wary of. For example, the latest Finale reviews were not good, so I didn't get it. MakeMusic is not 'supporting' my version of Finale on Yosemite, so I won't get the OS either. Nothing there to my advantage. Sibelius 7.5.1 offers me no additional functionality whatsoever (I'm sure there are those here that think it does, for them) - why would I want it? I've made some fairly stupid mistakes in the past and one of them was upgrading to the latest version of everything every time it appeared, thinking that because it's an upgrade it must be better. The result is hundreds, no thousands of treasured documents I can no longer access. Stupid mistake on my part, yes.
